About the Event
Between Jumu'ah & Shabbat: A Gathering of Body, Soul, and Dialogue
A prayerful experience of sacred music, movement, breath, and meditation—a creative dialogue between body and soul, music and meditation—shortly before Jumu’ah and Shabbat, deepening our connection to self and to one another.
Our workshop will deepen understanding of the connection between Jumu'ah and Shabbat. Jumu'ah is the Islamic Friday congregational prayer with a sermon, uniting Muslims in spiritual reflection and renewal. Shabbat, observed from Friday evening to Saturday night, is the Jewish day of rest and spiritual renewal, central to Jewish identity.
Meet Your-Self and the other through sacred melodies and music from neighboring traditions in Jerusalem that will bring us into dancing.
Together, we will dive into learning and creating a new, shared language through meditation, movement, and Muslim and Jewish texts.
